About

I've been trying to blog off and on for a couple years now, but I haven't found a well defined topic yet. So today, I decided that I would just start a new blog to catch all my ideas, my ramblings, till I can figure out the best way to share my thoughts with the world.

So who am I? My name is Marshal Hunter. I am 35 years old (when this post was written) and have a beautiful wife and three kids. For over 13 years, I have been trying to figure out how to reach my dream of making feature films. But recently, I have discovered that beyond my love for movies is a less complicated desire to just tell stories. Stories in many forms. Right now, I am working on my first novel. It is based on a feature film script that I have been developing for over 3 years. I am really excited about it! However - because of the number of characters, locations, and effects it has in it - I think will be difficult for me to raise the funds needed to produce an independent film. I have plans to reach out to studios and other production companies to see if I can find someone to partner with on this project. How long that will take is beyond my control. So in the meantime, I am reformatting the content into a book. Hopefully, the first draft will be finished by January and the novel will be ready to release sometime in early 2015. My goal is to start building an audience. If the story is strong enough and the audience grows big enough, then I think the right doors will open for turning it into a movie. We'll see, but I am becoming more content with the idea of just creating things that I love and leaving the results up to God and the audience. In essence, letting the cream rise to the top - on its own.

Anyway - I guess you, the random reader of this blog, can expect to learn more about my journey as a writer and filmmaker, about my faith and family, and probably more than you want to know about the inner working of my brain.

If you happen to run across this blog and like what you read, please comment and let me know. Also if you have any questions or topic ideas, I am definitely open to suggestions.
